Psychological Knowledge Meets Business Card Printing
Written on August 25, 2008
Color is definitely one of the elements that make your business card printing project attractive to your prospective clients. Color often creates an impact in the moods, feelings and behaviors, so much so, that your target readers reactions to your business cards depend on the shades you applied in your marketing tool.
Since the 1600s, scientists have made many studies regarding the visible colors. According to Newton, the colors that we see come from a natural prism when a pure light is passed onto it. This prism separates the lights into the different hues that we are now familiar with.
However, the resulting colors have individual wavelengths that cannot be further broken down to another level of color. Nevertheless, if they cannot be broken down further, colors were found to be capable of forming another shade when you combine them. Hence, we have the secondary colors such as the orange, green, and violet. When combined, colors are then regrouped to two forms the metamer and the complements.
And in the Psychology of color, there are certain mixes that can be used to apply to your business card printing design to create an acceptable emotion from your prospective clients. Just like our facial features, the colors you use may reflect the emotions and impact you want to build in your target audience.
A particular color can have different perceptions from different people. That is why your business card printing color selection is relative to the target audience you desire. Nonetheless, despite it being subjective, there are certain color schemes that seem to invoke a universal response. You can use these colors to maintain a balance in your business card printing project that you wont be limited in your aim to reach the most number of clients.
Based on the color spectrum, your color choice also has different emotional impacts that range from one extreme quality to the next. The warm colors (which includes red, yellow, and orange), for example, suggest warmth and comfort in one hand, while anger and hostility in the other. In contrast, the cool colors (such as blue, green, and purple), are known to stir up feelings of calm, peace and serenity. But when seen on the extreme section of the emotional quadrant, these cool colors often hint on feelings associated with sadness and even apathy.
Still, colors are used to provide healing and therapy to many cultures. Colors are used to stimulate the body and mind, as well as the nerves, to purify and cleanse the body of inner spoils.
Although many skeptics see color as just that shades to give aesthetic appeal to those who see them many still believe in the power of color to provide them with ways to achieve a goal. Hence, using color to develop a more effective business card printing project can make a difference in getting you that aimed for success youve wanted for a long time.
