Promoting Your Website The Other Side Of Site Development! Often, new internet marketers are so intent in getting their new site onto the internet that they forget the reason theyre putting it there. Its a bit like the graphic artist who is so enthralled on creating the new brochure that they forget to put them in the hands of salespeople!

Your web site is a sales tool. If its not visible, its a useless tool. So, go all the way. Even as you build your web site, make sure you are planning your web site promotion as well. Make sure you cover all the basics.

Plan on submitting your web site to appropriate industry or internet directories. Directories are one way that targeted or vertical prospects can find your site.

Naturally, a foundation of web site promotion will be your sites visibility on search engines. Study and identify the appropriate key words for your business and ensure that they are included in your sites meta tags and threaded into the copywriting on your site. When the sites complete, submit it to at least Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and the Open Directory Project.

Start planning your advertising. Consider pay-per-click (such as Googles AdWords) as well as appropriate banner ads and affiliate programs. Think hard about making sure site collects email addresses supported by autoresponders so you can follow up with email promotions.

Lastly, make sure your web site is reference by everything else you do. All your stationery, print materials, signage, and signatures need to have your web site URL showcased.

You can see that an important part of web site creation is planning your web site promotion. Theres always more you can do but make sure you cover these basics, as a minimum.
