If you want to quickly build your opt in list you need to incorporate as many different strategies as possible and this includes using ebook directories which are often ignored but can be very effective for collecting subscribers.

They are similar to article directories in that you submit your content and in return you receive free traffic and subscribers but with ebook directories the content is in the form of an ebook. Your ebook should be a short report that is related to your newsletter or ezine and it should encourage readers to subscribe to get more information.

Because the content is not available upfront (as with articles) you will need to write a compelling title and description to actually get people to download it.

The download instructions will then be sent by email but it also gives you the opportunity to redirect them to a one time offer after they have subscribed which can generate instant sales.

Another benefit of using Jogena is that you can indicate whether your ebook can be customised which is great for attracting affiliates who are looking for viral ebooks to promote so that they can earn commissions from people who buy any products that are recommended in the content.

Allowing affiliates to customise your ebook will motivate them to actually promote it which will result in more free traffic for your website. If people use it as a bonus on their website it can be passed around for many years and generate consistent traffic over a long period of time.

This strategy costs nothing to implement and the only thing that Jogena asks in return is that you include a link back to their website on the page that you direct people to who want to download your ebook. Its best if you create a new page on your website for each ebook directory so that you can track the results and see how many people subscribe.

If you are already giving away a free report or ebook using a squeeze page on your website you can quickly implement this strategy by creating a new page exactly the same as your original squeeze page but with a different tracking name so that you can see where the subscribers are coming from.
